Time to say Farewell

After much thought, I have decided to say farewell to this blog and go on a long break from blogging in general.The main reason behind my decision is that I am unable to keep up my non-blog work and plans while continuing to post regularly.

I have finally admitted to myself that I can’t keep up regular cooking, photographing, illustrating, posting, and interacting meaningfully if I want to be a writer as my long term goal and purpose.To feel less defeatist about it, I am going to attribute my inability to the fact that both writing and blogging require high levels of creative thinking and a willingness to obsess about it to some extent – so there is no place for both in my non-genius brain!

I have to choose writing over blogging because I feel that I can contribute more to writing (eventually) especially since it is more suited to my skills, talent, and training. And because I’ve always wanted to be an “author”.

Another reason for my decision to step back from this blog is that personally I have been having less than optimal health and I have been researching nutrition and thinking about the changes that I need to make to get better. Until I have great health myself, I wont feel comfortable recommending recipes to others, if you know what I mean.

In my previous post I had mentioned that I had a revised plan for my ‘cookbook’. Well, now that I am rethinking my relationship with food and the way nutrition affects health, I have decided not to do a cookbook at all. Instead I will write a long essay kinda thing about my thoughts and learnings in this area. And this I will share with you all sometime soon.

Before I sign off, I’d like to thank you all for being great readers and friends during this past year at Sugarfree Sweetheart. It is your encouragement, appreciation, and participation that has been the main motivating factor for all that I have managed so far. Thank you, thank you very much!
